What is the cost of registration?

Is there a student rate for registration?

If I cancel my registration, can I have a refund?
Cancellations after 15 January 2024 are non-refundable.

Can I transfer my registration to another member of my organisation?
Yes, registrations may be transferred at any stage. To request a tranfer, email registration@APAIEconference.net

If I am unable to attend, can I roll over my APAIE 2023 registration to APAIE 2025?
Requests received after 15 January 2023 cannot be rolled over to 2025.

Can I register for just one day of the conference?
There are no single-day passes. All registrations are for all days of the conference.

Is there an option to register as a virtual delegate?
APAIE 2024 is planned to be an in-person conference. If you are unable to join us in Perth, parts of the APAIE 2024 program will be offered via a series of virtual forums following the conference. Details will be on the APAIE and APAIE conference websites when available.

Travel to Australia: Do I need a visa?
How you travel to Australia is your responsibility, including whether or not you need a visa, and any other travel/entry requirements. For the latest information immigration and and visa requirements we recommend visiting immi.homeaffairs.gov.au

Who attends APAIE conferences?
Professionals who work in or provide services to the international education sector. Conference delegates, presenters and exhibitors usually include the following representatives:

  • University and institution officers responsible for international mobility of students, faculty and staff
  • National and regional international education organisations and associations
  • Leaders in interculturalism, internationalisation and the student experience
  • Higher education leaders responsible for the internationalisation of their institution such as Presidents, Vice Chancellors, Vice Presidents, Provosts, Directors, Principals, etc.
  • Government representatives and education policymakers
  • Leaders in advancing opportunities for indigenous and newcomer communities in international education

Can I access a delegate list?
Instructions to access the list of APAIE 2024 participants will be emailed to all registered contacts in 2024. You will also be able to connect with other participants via the APAIE 2024 Conference App during the conference. Information on accessing the App will be released a week in advance of the Conference.

How many delegates are attending APAIE 2024?
APAIE 2024 expects 2,200+ delegates in attendance from 55+ countries/regions. 

Networking

I’m looking to organise a private event, outside of the conference hours. Can you suggest any venues in Perth?

Can I connect with other delegates online prior to / during the conference?
The APAIE 2024 Conference App will allow you to connect with other APAIE delegates. The app will be available to registered delegates for download a week prior to the conference.

What networking opportunities will be available?
APAIE is known for great networking! Be sure to join the various networking opportunities including:

  • Pre-conference workshops (incurs additional fee and registration)
  • First-Timers’ session
  • APAIE Welcome Reception (no cost but need to register)
  • Meet with exhibitors and sponsors in the Exhibition Hall
  • Join discussions at round table sessions and presentations
  • Network during lunch breaks and over a coffee in a barista-coffee lounge

Presenters & Program

Can I apply to be a speaker in the program?
The date has now passed to submit a proposal for a session in the program.

Will APAIE 2024 be a hybrid event?
No. The event in Perth is planned as an in-person conference. However, there will be an APAIE 2024 series of virtual forums, using parts of the in-person Perth program, in the few months following the APAIE 2024 conference. Details will be on the APAIE and APAIE conference websites, when available.

One member of my panel session is unable to attend - can they present virtually?
If a panelist is unable to attend the conference, they may pre-record their part of the session, with the video shown as part of the presentation. However, if they are not attending in person, they will not be listed in the program as a speaker.

I am no longer able to attend to present my individual presentation. Can I present virtually?
No, for this conference, those delivering individual presentations will need to be physically present to deliver their session. There are many on a waitlist, ready to fill the spot and present in person.

Am I able to access the program via a virtual registration?
Virtual registrations are not available as APAIE 2024 is an in-person event. For those unable to attend in person, parts of the program will be offered via a series of virtual forums following the APAIE 2024 conference. Details will be on the APAIE and APAIE conference websites, when available.

Will sessions in the program be available to view post-event?
The full program will not be recorded, however selected sessions of the APAIE 2024 program will be offered via a series of virtual forums following the APAIE 2024 conference.

What are the Regional Reports?
The Regional Reports provide an insight into the region’s response to the global pandemic, address institutional and policy responses, and identify key issues and implications going forward. Each Regional Report presenter is a respected leader in the international higher education sector of their country/region.

Can I choose my booth location?
You may advise your preferred location and we’ll do our best to accommodate but many factors are taken into account when planning the exhibition layout.

Accommodation in Perth

Which hotels offer a special rate for APAIE delegates and when will these hotel bookings open?
Hotels with special rates will be published and available to book via the APAIE 2024 website once registration opens.

APAIE Membership

Does APAIE have a membership program?
Currently APAIE does not have an open membership program. APAIE has 17 institutional members, and each has a representative on the APAIE Advisory Council which runs the Association. Membership is only by invitation of the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council undertakes periodic reviews of their membership to decide whether to invite any additional institutional members to join the APAIE Advisory Council.

Over the following year, APAIE plans to establish a membership program which will be open to the international higher education community. It will be announced when ready and information will be available on the APAIE website.
