When will registration open?
Registration opens on 3 October 2022.

What is the cost of registration?

Early bird registration until 30 Nov 2022

Is there a student rate for registration?

If I cancel my registration, can I have a refund?
Yes, if you cancel your registration prior to 23 January 2023, you will receive a refund less a cancellation fee of $100. Cancellations after 23 January are non-refundable.

Can I transfer my registration to another member of my organisation?
Yes, registrations may be transferred at any stage. To request a tranfer, email registration@APAIEconference.net

If I am unable to attend, can I roll over my APAIE 2023 registration to APAIE 2024?
Yes, if your request to roll over your registration to APAIE 2024 is received in writing prior to 23 January 2023, your registration will be held in credit for APAIE 2024. If your 2024 registration fee is higher, you will need to pay the difference before your 2024 registration can be confirmed. A registration can only be rolled over once. Requests received after 23 January 2023 cannot be rolled over. To request a roll over, email registration@APAIEconference.net

Can I register for just one day of the conference?
There are no single-day passes. All registrations are for all days of the conference.

Is there an option to register as a virtual delegate?
APAIE 2023 is planned to be an in-person conference. If you are unable to join us in Bangkok, parts of the APAIE 2023 program will be offered via a series of virtual forums following the conference. Details will be available on the APAIE and APAIE conference websites, when available.

Delegates

Who attends APAIE conferences?
Professionals who work in or provide services to the international education sector. Conference delegates, presenters and exhibitors usually include the following representatives:

  • University and institution officers responsible for international mobility of students, faculty and staff
  • National and regional international education organisations and associations
  • Leaders in interculturalism, internationalisation and the student experience
  • Higher education leaders responsible for the internationalisation of their institution such as Presidents, Vice Chancellors, Vice Presidents, Provosts, Directors, Principals, etc.
  • Government representatives and education policymakers
  • Leaders in advancing opportunities for indigenous and newcomer communities in international education

Can I access a delegate list?
Not yet, however, you will be able to view delegate profiles and connect via the APAIE 2023 Conference App which will be available to registered delegates for download two weeks prior to the conference.

How many delegates are attending APAIE 2023?
We won’t know until closer to the conference, however at the last in-person conference (APAIE 2019 in Kuala Lumpur) 2,500+ delegates attended from 55+ countries/regions. 

Networking

Can I connect with other delegates online prior to / during the conference?
The APAIE 2023 Conference App will allow you to connect with other APAIE delegates. The app will be available to registered delegates for download two weeks prior to the conference.

What networking opportunities will be available?
APAIE is known for great networking! Be sure to join the various networking opportunities including:

  • Pre-conference workshops (incurs additional fee and registration)
  • First-Timers’ session
  • APAIE Welcome Reception (no cost but need to register)
  • Meet with exhibitors and sponsors in the Exhibition Hall
  • Join discussions at round table sessions and presentations
  • Network during lunch breaks and over a coffee in a barista-coffee lounge

Presenters & Program

Can I apply to be a speaker in the program?
The date has now passed to submit a proposal for a session in the program. All those who submitted a proposal will receive the outcome of their submission early in October.

Will APAIE 2023 be a hybrid event?
No. The event in Bangkok is planned as an in-person conference. However, there will be an APAIE 2023 series of virtual forums, using parts of the in-person Bangkok program, in the few months following the APAIE 2023 conference. Details will be on the APAIE and APAIE conference websites, when available.

One member of my panel session is unable to attend - can they present virtually?
If a panelist is unable to attend the conference, they may pre-record their part of the session, with the video shown as part of the presentation. However, if they are not attending in person, they will not be listed in the program as a speaker.

I am no longer able to attend to present my individual presentation. Can I present virtually?
No, for this conference, those delivering individual presentations will need to be physically present to deliver their session. There are many on a waitlist, ready to fill the spot and present in person.

When will the full program be available?
An overview of the general program is currently available here, and will be updated with session details from late October.

Am I able to access the program via a virtual registration?

Will sessions in the program be available to view post-event?
The full program will not be recorded, however selected session of the APAIE 2023 program will be offered via a series of virtual forums following the APAIE 2023 conference.

What are the Regional Reports?
The Regional Reports provide an insight into the region’s response to the global pandemic, address institutional and policy responses, and identify key issues and implications going forward. Each Regional Report presenter is a respected leader in the international higher education sector of their country/region.

Can I choose my booth location?
You may advise your preferred location and we’ll do our best to accommodate but many factors are taken into account when planning the exhibition layout.

COVID-19

What Covid precautions will be in place at the APAIE 2023 Conference venue?
In addition to observing any local requirements, delegates are encouraged to wear masks and use hand sanitiser at APAIE 2023. The exhibition hall is well-spaced by design and allows lots of room for movement. 

Accommodation in Bangkok

Which hotels offer a special rate for APAIE delegates and when will these hotel bookings open?
Hotels with special rates will be published and available to book in October 2022 once registration opens.
