Biography

Prof Venky Shankararaman’s areas of specialization include business process management and analytics, enterprise systems architecture and integration, and education pedagogy. With 30 years of experience in the IT industry in various capacities as a researcher, academic faculty member, IT professional and industry consultant, he has published over 90 papers in academic journals and conferences.

Biography

After holding positions including Senior Specialist at SEAMEO Regional Centre for Higher Education, and Senior Programme Officer with the ASEAN University Network Secretariat, Nopraenue Dhirathiti is now the Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, and Associate Professor in Public Policy and Public Administration, with Mahidol University, Thailand. With a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick, and a Master's degree in Politics of the World Economy from LSE, University of London, her current areas of research include co-production in public policy focusing on lifelong learning for elderly people as well as the harmonization and internationalization of higher education.

Biography

Professor Drum is the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Business and Law and Professor of Politics and International Relations at the University of Notre Dame Australia. His areas of research include public policy, voting, elections, and Australian politics. Professor Drum has collaborated with several Western Australia State Government agencies. He has been a WA Convenor of the Electoral Regulation Research Network since 2017 and is a member of the Australasian Studies of Parliament Group. He has participated in a range of Commonwealth and Western Australian parliamentary government inquiries and was appointed to the Ministerial Expert Committee on Electoral Reform in 2021. Its recommendations led to the reform of the voting system in Western Australia.

Dr Ho Thanh My Phuong is currently the Director of SEAMEO Regional Training Center located in Vietnam. Being involved in the SEAMEO Center family since 2007, Dr Ho Thanh My Phuong has made significant contributions to the development of the center through her active role as a leader, manager, consultant, lecturer, researcher, and trainer. Moreover, with her over 30-year experience in education, Dr Phuong has been actively working as an educational leader, manager, lecturer, trainer, and researcher in the area of educational leadership and management, educational research, English language teaching, curriculum and course development, and assessment and testing, both domestically and internationally.

Biography

Associate Professor Dr. Pornapit Darasawang is Acting Vice President for Internationalisation, King Mongkut’ s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in Thailand. She obtained her PhD in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Edinburgh. As a Vice President for Internationalisation, one of her major goals is to develop KMUTT’ s students’ intercultural competence and English language proficiency through providing international experience abroad and making use of internationalisation at home from international students who study at KMUTT. In addition, Dr. Pornapit has actively worked in various projects with the EU SHARE (European Union Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region) programme.

Biography

Professor Seth Kunin has been Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Global at Curtin University since 2016. In this role, he leads the University’s international activities, including strategic policy, international marketing strategy, and international partnerships.

Prior to joining the University, he was Vice-Principal, Internationalisation at the University of Aberdeen and held senior roles at Durham University.

A prominent anthropologist, Professor Kunin attained his Bachelor of Arts from Colombia University in New York and his PhD in Anthropology from the University of Cambridge in the UK. His research focused on the application of structuralist theory and methodology to Jewish texts and culture.

Biography

Dr Laurene Chua-Garcia is the Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization of De La Salle University (DLSU), Manila, and heads the Internationalization Committee in the Asia-Pacific Region for the International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU). She also represented the Philippines on behalf of its Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in various assignments with University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) and ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS), to name a few.

Kelly Smith has been at Murdoch University since January 2020 and is currently Pro Vice Chancellor International. He has worked in international education for over 30 years, including in the public and private sectors. He is a Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia and a regular presenter at international education conferences in Australia, Asia and the Americas.

Initiating many innovative international programs for internationalization at home and international partnership.

Biography

Professor Ren is the Pro Vice-Chancellor International at the University of Southern Queensland, providing leadership and strategic guidance across the University for internationalisation and global engagement. He worked in the higher education sector for over 20 years and has previously held positions at the University of Melbourne, University of Queensland, Victoria University, and Macquarie University. Professor Ren is currently Vice President of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA), having previously served as a board member and the Chair of the Research Committee. He is a member of the Universities Australia Deputy Vice-Chancellors International Executive Group’ and has been recognised as a Fellow of the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) for his distinguished service in 2022.
